Inspired by the Biblical account of a King’s daughter and a doomed prophet, Oscar Wilde’s 1891 Salome is a lush and sensual piece of theatrical poetry exploring fear, jealousy, and forbidden passion. Our production will seek to create a unique world around this complex piece; using evocative lighting, a rich soundscape, and movement inspired by Japanese Butoh dance.
