Sinclair Lewis Writers' Conference

One of the longest-running, most respected writers’ conferences in the upper Midwest is back in Sauk Centre for its 27th year!

This year the conference the keynote speaker will be James Bradley, internationally acclaimed author of Flags of Our Fathers. His talk, “You’ll Always Get a ‘No’ if You Have a Good Idea,” explores how to achieve your goal, no matter how many say it can’t be done.

Three other presenters will join James during the day-long conference, digging into the process of writing as well as selling what you write.

• Claudia Schmidt, musician and songwriter, will present “Following the Thread: Allowing Images and Sentences to Unfold and Surprise.”
• Larry Watson, author of novels, poetry and short stories, will discuss “Hometown and Heritage: A Writer’s Sense of Place.” And
• Dave Simpkins, Sinclair Lewis scholar, will address “Scratching the Scribbler’s Itch: Sinclair Lewis on Writing.”
