Pioneer Place is so pleased to welcome Don Shelby’s one-man show, Mark Twain: Life on the Mississippi for three performances only on January 11-13, 2013. Best known for the novel "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" (1876) and its sequel, "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" (1885), Twain also worked as a master riverboat pilot on the Mississippi River before the Civil War and penned the travel book and memoir "Life on the Mississippi" in 1883. In this one-man show, Mark Twain -- portrayed by former WCCO news anchor and author Don Shelby -- will amaze you with his wit and sensibility. As one audience member put it, “Don Shelby not only looks like Mark Twain, he tells a story like Mark Twain with all the home spun humor and detail we all know Twain for.”
