Our family concerts provide special opportunities to bring young children to hear great music in an intimate and relaxed setting. With a special appearance by the Amahoro dancers performing Twese Hamwe (All of us) - the story of genocide in Rwanda and Burundi told in bodies that hold the experience and yet perform beautiful and peaceful dance movements that invite all of us to imagine peace.

The year 2014 marks the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. The Daedalus will perform excerpts from works by four composers forced into various forms of exile due to the cultural policies of the Third Reich. From those who were arrested and never completed the journey to exile, to those who spent the war far from home, and those who experienced internal exile by remaining within a state to which they were vocally opposed, the effect on the music produced is profound.

The quartet will perform a full-length concert at 7:30 pm at Calvary Community Church.

This project is supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and by the Fund for the Arts of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation. This organization is funded, in part, by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Additional funding from United Arts.
