This mythic re-telling explores the work of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, the story of their friendship and their mutual love of the natural world.

Set among the striking natural surroundings of the Saint John's Abbey Arboretum, Nature for the Nation is a unique theater experience that is performed outdoors as a "walking play." This immersive, family-friendly experience takes audiences on a journey through rolling, grassy expanses as scenes unfold around them. Rich choral arrangements and live music are woven into this celebration of storytelling, spirit and nature.

Audiences will need to walk one mile on occasionally uneven, hilly terrain and are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for sitting. If you have any concerns about accessibility, please contact the Box Office for details.
